A Review of the Most Popular Pizzas at Mazzio's

 Mazzio's is a family owned and operated pizzeria that specializes in pastas, sandwiches, pies, desserts and specialty pizzas. Mazzio's started out as a small pizza parlor in Oklahoma, Kansas, Texas, Iowa, Missouri, Arkansas, Tennessee and Mississippi. In 2021, Zio's Italian Kitchen went to a private equity firm. The pizzeria was reestablished as Mazzio's in May of 2021.

Pasta sandwiches are some of the most popular items on the Mazzio's menu. The basic style of a pasta sandwich is a thin crust pizza. Other specialty pizzas include the "Chicago" style pizza that includes sausage, eggplant, and chicken. The "Soprano" style of pizza includes garlic bread, caramelized onions, and sauerkraut. Other pastas served at the restaurant are veggie pizzas, pasta salads, meatballs, stuffed pizza with ham or Swiss, as well as vegetarian pizzas.

The majority of sandwiches served at the Mazzio's restaurant are made using authentic Italian ingredients. Many of the breads used are made with tomato sauce from Parmesan, the cheese of choice for many Italian sandwiches. Some pastas also use fresh mozzarella cheese. Cheddar and Emmentaler cheese are also popular for these types of pastas. These specialty pizzas are also available on a selection of other foods, such as grilled chicken, grilled wheat crust, and vegetable platters.



A variety of salads are available to choose from on a daily basis. A customer may select an everyday salad, lunch salad, or a dinner salad. There are a number of different types of dressings offered to accompany these salads, some of which are made with freshly cut vegetables. Freshly ground beef, homemade tomato sauce, and garlic basil olive oil are the toppings on most mazzios. Chicken and shrimp are also offered.

Chicken Parmesan, Alfredo sauce, and Spicy Basil Olive oil are the standard sauce selections served with pasta. For an extra flavor boost, marinara and white wine may be added. Additional side dishes may include vegetable pasta salad, potato crockpot chicken nachos, and a variety of other Italian treats. 

Sandwiches are another favorite of customers. Mazzio's offers a large variety of different types of crust for their customers to choose from, including wheat crust, blueberry crumb crust, and a variety of others. Customers who enjoy sandwiches also love the choice of fresh salad toppings that are offered with their pizza. 

Pizzas are offered in different sizes and shapes, as well. Small pizzas are served at a reasonable price, while larger ones are sold for more. The price difference is usually determined by the ingredients included in the pizza. Most of the Mazzio's pizzas are served on a wheat crust and are popular for their size. Cheese is the biggest ingredient in most of their pizzas, and most customers like the style and taste of their cheese. Vegetables are also a common topping on Mazzio's pizzas.

Chicken lovers can get their fill of buffalo chicken, and a variety of other items, including roasted red peppers and onions, creamy ranch pizza, and a variety of other choices. Of course, all of these are served on Mazzio's famous crust. Chicken lovers can even enjoy the "chicken pizza" that is offered, which is covered in a cheddar and bacon crust.

There is another pizza that is made by Mazzio's, which is called the Spago Chicken Bacon Alfredo. It is made with Spago sauce, Chicken bacon, Spicy mushroom sauce, and chicken bacon. This dish has a medium sized stuffed crust that is baked on an oven. The customer who requested this special pizza will surely be satisfied with his or her choice!

For those that are into vegetables, they will love the vegetarian pizzas that Mazzio's serves. They include vegetarian burritos, vegetable pizza, and a variety of salads. The vegetarian burritos have Vegetarian Ranch sauce, and a choice between Italian sausage or Swiss cheese. The Vegetarian pizza has a baked crust that has either Swiss or Italian cheese, and a large salad as well. 

One of the favorites of those who enjoy meats is the Italian herb soup called Pizza Marinara. This soup is made with prosciutto, fettuccine, garlic, and parmesan cheese. It is served with a small piece of raw tomato attached to each serving. This pizza may not seem very traditional, but when you taste it, you will surely know why it is so popular!

" Mazzi's Pizzas and Sandwiches " is a monthly offering from Giordana, the pizza restaurant owned and operated by Fabio Mazzi. Giordana owns multiple locations in Rome, London, Tokyo, Singapore, Dubai and New York City, among many other cities around the world. The company was founded in 1992 and has thus far achieved phenomenal growth rates. They have also experienced significant declines in the quality of their products at times, although this issue has been resolved with the passage of time.
